The Israeli forces opened live fire at Palestinian protesters who took to the streets near the Israeli checkpoints in various parts of the occupied West Bank today, Friday.

Some 174  Palestinian civilians were injured during confrontations with the Israeli army in several Palestinian areas.

The Palestinians protested today in support of prisoners in the "Friday of Rage".

The director of the Emergency and Emergency Center in the Red Crescent in Nablus, Ahmed Jibril, said that the ambulance crews dealt with 174 injuries, ranging from rubber-coated metal bullets, suffocation with tear gas, and fractures and bruises during confrontations with the Israeli army in Beita, Osrin, Hawara, south of Nablus, and Beit Dajan in the east in the east of the West Bank.

Russia Today's correspondent in the West Bank reported that clashes erupted today, Friday, between Palestinian youths and the Israeli army in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, after the Israeli army suppressed a march of support for prisoners that roamed several neighborhoods in the town.

The correspondent added that clashes also erupted in the Bab al-Zawiya area in Hebron in support of Palestinian prisoners on the "Friday of Rage", which was called by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in a press statement issued yesterday, Thursday.

The movement called the Palestinians in the West Bank to "make Friday a day of Palestinian Rage" and to go to the Israeli checkpoints to clash with the Israeli forces in response to "the arrogance of the occupation and its aggression against the prisoners.

Clashes also broke out with the Israeli army in the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya, the northern entrance to the city of Bethlehem, the town of Beita in the Nablus governorate, and near the entrance to the town of Qarawat Bani Hassab, west of Salfit, according to our correspondent in the West Bank.

On its part, Israeli press sources stated that an Israeli soldier was hit in the head with stones during clashes in the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya.

In a related context, the Israeli police killed a Palestinian citizen earlier today, Friday, after he tried to stab one an Israeli trooper at a gate of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Al Quds (known in Western and Israeli sources as Jerusalem).
