At least 17 people have been injured, including four in critical condition, after two passenger trains collided near Copenhagen, authorities have confirmed.
The crash involved two S-tog trains, part of the capital’s electric commuter system. The collision caused a complete suspension of rail services on the affected line, leading to major disruption across the network.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene shortly after the incident, evacuating passengers from damaged carriages and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment. Several of the casualties were reported to be in life-threatening condition.
Officials from emergency services said injuries ranged from severe to moderate, including fractures and other trauma. Investigations are now underway to determine the cause of the collision.
The site saw a heavy deployment of rescue teams and ambulances, while railway operations remain halted in the area. Authorities are working to restore services gradually once safety inspections are completed.
