15 plays will be staged at the first edition of Eazees International Women's Theater Festival that will kick off on September 15.
Several countries will participate in the festival such as Egypt, Japan, Romania, Netherlands, Tunisia, and Syria.
Last month, the organizers also announced that this edition will be in the honor of late playwright Fathia El Assal. Also, the Honorary President for this edition will be actress Sawsan Badr.
Actress Abeer Loutfi, the president of the festival, said that the activities of the festival will not be virtual as the theater is based on the live engagement and interaction between artists and audience.
To choose the name of Al Assal to be the guest of honor, Loutfi explained that the late playwright was one of the pioneers who shed the light on women’s issues and suffering. Her most celebrated works include “Heya Wi El Mostahel,” and “Segn El Nesaa.”
The organizers of the Eazees International Women’s Theater Festival also added that only the opening and closing ceremonies will be held at open-air venues, while the other performances will be hosted by various venues in Cairo.
She added that the names of the participated tropes, in addition to contacting various artists to take part in the event will be announced.
