The Pakistan Army has killed 13 militants during armed clashes near the border with Afghanistan, following attempted infiltrations into northern regions of the country.
According to an official military statement, Pakistani forces intercepted armed groups attempting to cross into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that has long faced security challenges due to its proximity to the Afghan border.
In one operation near the tribal district of Mohmand, troops engaged militants in a firefight that resulted in the deaths of eight fighters. Additional clashes linked to a second infiltration attempt brought the total number of militants killed to 13.
The military said its forces acted on intelligence and surveillance to prevent the incursions, reinforcing border security amid ongoing concerns over cross-border militancy.
The latest operation highlights persistent instability along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier, where security forces continue efforts to counter armed groups attempting to enter Pakistani territory.
