The 126th humanitarian aid convoy began its entry to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning, passing through the side gate of the Rafah Land Port in North Sinai toward the Kerem Shalom crossing for final entry into the Strip.
An official source at the Rafah Land Port stated that the trucks, part of the "Zad al-Izza from Egypt to Gaza" convoy, carry thousands of tons of relief and humanitarian aid. The shipment includes food baskets, fresh vegetables, medical supplies, medicines, and personal care items, as well as fuel (gasoline, natural gas, and diesel) and shelter materials such as tents, blankets, and winter clothing.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has served as the national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza since the crisis began in October 2023.
The Rafah Land Port has remained operational throughout this period, maintaining readiness across all logistical centers with the continuous efforts of 35,000 volunteers.
It is worth mentioning that, Israeli occupation forces closed the crossings connecting to the Gaza Strip on March 2, 2025, following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement and the failure to reach a permanent truce.
The truce was breached by heavy aerial bombardment on March 18, 2025, followed by a renewed ground incursion into various areas of the Gaza Strip from which the forces had previously withdrawn.
