Nearly 12,000 buildings in Tehran have been damaged since the start of US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, the governor of the Iranian capital said Tuesday.
Tehran Governor Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian stated that the buildings suffered either partial or total damage following the attacks that began on February 28.
Motamedian urged residents whose properties were affected to contact municipal authorities to begin procedures for compensation related to the damage.
The strikes are part of an ongoing military campaign carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran, which has resulted in hundreds of deaths, including Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior security officials.
Iran has responded with daily missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, while also striking what it describes as US interests across several Arab countries.
Those attacks have caused casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports, and other facilities, drawing condemnation from the affected countries.
