Around 1,200 displaced Syrian families have returned from Al-Hasakah to their towns and villages in northern Aleppo as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of displaced residents after years of conflict.

According to a statement issued by local authorities in Hasakah, the convoy departed under the supervision of the Syrian presidential team and headed towards communities in the northern Aleppo countryside.

The return operation was accompanied by Syrian internal security units in both Hasakah and Aleppo provinces, while the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management provided logistical assistance and essential support throughout the journey.

The latest convoy follows a previous operation on 14 April, when around 800 displaced families also returned to their homes in northern Aleppo as part of wider state efforts to address Syria’s displacement crisis.

Earlier this year, the Syrian government announced an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces aimed at implementing a ceasefire and launching a phased integration of military and administrative institutions.

The agreement also includes restoring state control over civil institutions, border crossings, and public facilities, in addition to resolving issues related to detainees and displaced civilians.
