Officials warned that the death toll could rise further as some of the injured remain in critical condition.
No group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, security analysts suspect the assault may have been carried out by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan or allied militant factions amid a recent surge in attacks targeting security forces along Pakistan’s border regions.
