Twelve people were killed today in the crash of a passenger plane en route from Diani to Kichwa Tembo in southwestern Kenya.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement that the aircraft, a Cessna Caravan with registration number 5Y-CCA, crashed shortly after taking off from Diani Airport bound for Kichwa Tembo. The plane was carrying 12 people.
Government authorities have arrived at the crash site to determine the cause and consequences of the incident.
