At least 12 people were injured in a shooting near a local festival in Ohio on Saturday, authorities said, as police launched a search for the suspects.
The shooting occurred near Toledo's annual Old West End Festival, a popular event featuring live music and street celebrations. Police believe at least two individuals exchanged gunfire near the festival grounds.
Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joseph Heffernan said all 12 victims suffered gunshot wounds, with two reported in critical condition. No arrests had been made as of Saturday evening.
Investigators are reviewing mobile phone footage, interviewing witnesses, and conducting an active search for those involved. Officials said the average age of the victims was in their early twenties.
The incident occurred despite a significant police presence at the festival, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
