Twelve people were injured on Tuesday following the collapse of an elevator from the fourth floor at Menoufia University Hospital in Shebin El-Kom city, located in Egypt's Nile Delta region.
Major General Mahmoud El-Kamouny, Director of Menoufia Security Directorate, received a report from Major Ahmed Arafa, Chief of Investigations at Shebin El-Kom Police Department, confirming that the hospital lift had fallen while in use.
Emergency services and ambulances rushed to the scene. The injured were quickly transferred to the hospital’s emergency department to receive urgent medical care.
A police report was filed, and the Public Prosecution has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
