12 Dead in Cameroon Landslide

The death toll from a devastating landslide in Cameroon has risen to 12, according to the national broadcaster, CRTV.

Despite intensive rescue efforts, authorities have stated that the likelihood of finding additional survivors remains low, and dozens of people are still reported missing.

Cameroon’s West Region Governor, Augustin Awah Fonka, confirmed on CRTV that all efforts to locate survivors have been exhausted.

The final of the 12 bodies recovered was retrieved from the debris on Saturday morning.

Search operations continue with assistance from local volunteers as officials persist in their efforts to recover those still unaccounted for.
