About 118,000 people have been displaced by ongoing fighting and cross-border airstrikes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the United Nations said.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reported that around 115,000 people have fled their homes in Afghanistan, while roughly 3,000 others have been displaced in Pakistan as clashes continue along the shared border.
According to the agency, thousands of families have been forced to leave their homes amid escalating violence and growing insecurity in the border region.
The UN warned that tensions remain high as fighting between Afghan forces and the Pakistan Army intensifies, triggering large-scale internal displacement in both countries.
Pakistan has recently escalated its military operations by launching new airstrikes and artillery attacks deep inside Afghanistan, targeting multiple locations including the capital Kabul, the southern city of Kandahar and the strategic Bagram Air Base.
The continued fighting has raised humanitarian concerns as aid agencies warn that the number of displaced people could rise if the border conflict persists.
