The death toll from the sudden heavy rains that fell on New Delhi last week has risen to 11, including four who drowned in flooded tunnels, while air traffic in the capital faces some disturbances, the Times of India reported.
New Delhi, which saw the worst heat wave in its history earlier this month, recorded the highest rainfall rate in decades on June 28, with its amount in one day exceeding the average rainfall in the city in a month, asharq news reported.
Heavy rain caused a roof to collapse in one of the three terminals at the main airport of the capital, New Delhi, killing one person, disrupting flights, submerging tunnels with water, causing severe traffic congestion, and cutting off electricity and water to parts of the city.
