According to The Hill, today, German authorities said that public prosecutors have accused 12 men of planning well-funded armed attacks on mosques.

Prosecutors added in a statement: "They planned the attack on mosques, killing and wounding the largest possible number of Muslims," according to the "Reuters".

The prosecution added that the suspects were meeting regularly to plan the attack, except one of them pledged to collect 50 thousand euros to purchase weapons.

The suspect ages are between 31 and 61, and they were all but one arrested. Prosecutors in the southeastern city of Stuttgart said the 12th culprit is still on run.

Another suspect died in custody, and the prosecutor said that he killed himself and that there was no indication that there was a mistake, adding that thousands had been found in the suspects' homes.

Members of so-called "secret socialist nationalism" were accused in 2018 of the decade-long murders of those with Turkish ancestry.

Last year, another far-right extremist attacked a church in East Germany, killing two citizens.
