10.7 % Increase in Number of ADSL Internet Subscribers

Central Agency for public Mobilization and statistics (CAPMAS) issued today 18 / 6 / 2023 Telecommunications statistics annual bulletin 2021 / 2022, The most important indicators are as follows:

First: Mobile and internet services:

- Number of ADSL internet Subscribers reached 10.5 million

in June 2022 , compared to 9.5 million for the same month in 2020, an increase by 10.7%.

- Number of mobile internet users reached 68.5 million in June 2022, compared to 59.7 million for the same month in 2021 an increase by 14.9%.

- Number of USB modem users reached 2.1 million in June 2022, compared to 3.2 million for the same month in 2021, a decrease by 34.5%.

- Number of mobile phone lines reached 98.3 million lines in June 2022, compared to 98.6 million line for the same month in 2021, a decrease by ‎ 0.3%.

Second: Telecommunication Services:

• Telephone centrals, capacity and its operating lines:

- Number of telephone centrals reached 1605 in 2021 / 2022, compared to 1199 in 2020 / 2021, an increase by 33.9 %.

- Central’s capacity reached 19.9 million lines in 2021 / 2022, compared to 23.3 million lines in 2020 / 2021, a decrease by 14.5 %.

- Number of operating lines reached 12.2 million lines in 2021 / 2022, compared to 12.8 million lines in 2020 / 2021, a decrease by 4.5 %.

• Distribution of automatic telephone lines:

- Number of phone lines in government sector reached 84.0 thousand lines in 2021 / 2022, compared to 94.0 thousand lines in 2020 / 2021, a decrease by 10.5 %.

- Number of phone lines in private sector reached 316.7 thousand lines in 2021 / 2022, compared to 407.5 thousand lines in 2020 / 2021, a decrease by 22.3%.

- Number of home phone lines reached 6.4 million lines in 2021 / 2022, compared to 6.7 million lines in 2019 / 2020, a decrease by 4.6%.

- Average number of household telephone lines / thousand households reached 253 lines in 2021 / 2022, compared to 262 lines in 2020 / 2021, a decrease by 3.4%.
