Police in the German capital of Berlin expected up to 10,000 people to protest at the Brandenburg Gate on Friday in support of Friday's "For the Future" demonstrations calling for more efforts to curb the effects of global warming.

The protests come amid the European Parliament elections, which began on Thursday and continue until Sunday.

"Friday's mass demonstrations were the second of its kind, with 15 million people demonstrating in various parts of the world on March 15," organizers said.

The "Friday for the Future" demonstrations call on political leaders to adhere to the goals of the Paris Convention on Climate in 2016. Thousands of students demonstrated on Friday in the German capital of Berlin to protest the government's climate policies.

The demonstrators gathered in the "Invaliden" park, in front of the Museum of Nature in Berlin, and organized a march through 3 streets to the historic Brandenburg Gate.

The students chanted slogans such as: "We are here to raise our voice because you are raping our future." Swedish activist Greta Thonberg, 16, became a symbol of student protests against climate change in Europe.

"Adults have failed to solve the climate crisis, and we must be concerned," said Thornberg. Protesters called on German and other governments to take measures to prevent climate change.

According to Euro news website, there is a video about "Friday's "For the Future" demonstrations".
