North Sinai Governor Mohamed Abdel-Fadil Shousha revealed that around 10,000 people have crossed the Rafah Border Crossing from the Gaza Strip to the Egyptian side since the beginning of the military operations in Gaza.
Among these, approximately 1,500 are Palestinian residents of Gaza who are sick or injured and seeking medical treatment in hospitals in Egypt or other countries. They have been accompanied by about 2,000 of their relatives. In addition, about 2,400 foreign nationals and Palestinians with dual citizenship, as well as approximately 4,000 Egyptians who were stranded in Gaza, have also crossed the Rafah crossing.
According to the Governor, the Rafah crossing has been open 24/7, including on official holidays, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza. This is part of Egypt's efforts to provide aid to the Palestinian people.
Shousha further explained that since the start of the Israeli military operations in Gaza, around 20,000 humanitarian and medical aid trucks, as well as dozens of ambulances, have entered Gaza through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings.
"Aid has been reaching Al-Arish in three ways: through the land axis, where aid comes from Egyptian and Arab institutions within Egypt; through the air axis, where Al-Arish International Airport has received approximately 600 aircraft from 52 countries and international organizations; and through the sea axis, where aid is brought in through the port of Al-Arish."
