Security forces imposed a cordon around the site of the collapsed 10-storey building at the Gesr el Suez Street in Cairo to make way for the civil protection and ambulance forces to extract the residents from under the rubble.

Residents circulated videos of the property as it collapsed, crying out for help to get the residents out of the rubble, as they demanded the ambulances be called quickly.
Eyewitnesses said that the property contained a number of residents, including children, and appealed to the civil protection authorities to quickly extract them from under the rubble in an attempt to rescue them.

Meantime, the security services managed to rescue two people and a child from the bottom of the collapsed property, and the search for others is underway.
Witnesses indicated that the civil protection recovered the body of 3 people, including a child, and 23 other residents were transferred to Al-Salam Hospital.
"There was an explosion in the cheese factory at the bottom of the property, which caused a major shake, that the residents of the district felt, which led to the collapse," an eye witness said.
