At least 10 people were killed and another 10 injured in a shooting incident near Johannesburg, South African media reported on Sunday, in one of the latest violent attacks to hit the region.
According to police statements cited by Agence France-Presse, an unidentified gunman opened fire in a village close to Johannesburg, leaving 20 people either dead or wounded. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Law enforcement authorities said the motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and no arrests have been announced so far. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and to identify those responsible.
