At least 10 individuals lost their lives and over 10 others sustained injuries in a devastating bus accident that occurred in the Subang regency of Indonesia's West Java province on Saturday.
According to Hery Marantika, the head of the province's search and rescue office, the tragic incident unfolded at 18:45 Jakarta time along Kampung Palasari Street.
Marantika's rescue team swiftly responded to the scene, undertaking the challenging task of evacuating the victims.
"I got reports that 10 people were killed and more than 10 others were wounded," he told Xinhua via phone.
Responders promptly transported severely injured individuals to Subang General Hospital for urgent medical attention, while those with minor injuries were directed to nearby health facilities.
The ill-fated bus, carrying more than 40 passengers, primarily comprised students returning from a recreational outing, as disclosed by Marantika.
