In southeastern Iran, ten members of the border guards were killed following a terrorist attack on their convoy in the city of Taftan, located in the Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Initial reports indicate that a group of armed militants ambushed the guards' vehicle, leading to the fatalities.

According to Iran's Ministry of Interior, the assault occurred while the border patrol was on duty, and the attackers are believed to be affiliated with the terrorist group Jaish al-Adl.

The ambush involved gunfire directed at the patrol, resulting in the deaths of the ten border guards, including deployed soldiers.

Medical emergency teams rushed to the scene immediately after the attack and transported the injured to medical facilities for treatment. Unfortunately, the fatalities were confirmed shortly thereafter.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society stated that the attack took place on the road between Jahorkuh and Bazman around 1 PM local time.

In response to this heinous act, the Iranian Ministry of Interior has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

This incident marks a significant escalation in violence in the region, which has been plagued by sporadic attacks from various militant groups targeting Iranian security forces.

The Iranian government is expected to respond strongly to this incident as it grapples with ongoing security challenges.
