The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that 10 African countries are at risk of an Ebola outbreak as infections continue to spread in Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring Uganda.
Africa CDC Director-General Jean Kaseya said the countries facing elevated risk include South Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Angola, Central African Republic, and Zambia.
Health officials are intensifying surveillance and emergency preparedness efforts amid fears of wider regional transmission of the deadly virus.
