US media reported that a woman was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting in southeast Washington on Tuesday night.
The Police said that the shooting took place around 9:00 PM local time, near the capital's border with Prince George's County, Maryland, announcing that a woman died at the scene, and a man and a 15-year-old boy were injured.
Sixth District Commander Darnell Robinson said the woman, who appeared to be between 30 and 40, was shot in the head, the teen was shot in the shoulder, and the man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, was shot in the leg.
Footage from a nearby gas station showed a man opening fire on the two victims, who were outside a restaurant. The teen pulled out a gun and began shooting at the suspect.
According to Robinson, the suspect apparently targeted the two, noting that the teenager was hospitalized and charged with carrying a gun without a license and other firearms offences.
He stated that it was not yet clear who shot the woman who was inside the restaurant, and whether the three victims knew each other, stressing that the police were searching for the suspect who headed back towards the gas station.
