An explosion at an auto parts factory in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, has killed one person and injured two others.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the Fujioka plant, which manufactures components for Toyota Motor Corporation.
Authorities confirmed that the blast originated from a dust collector inside the facility.
Local broadcasters Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting and Nagoya Broadcasting Network reported that emergency responders received a call indicating that a dust explosion had caused the rooftop to detach.
Toyota Motor Corporation and Chuo Spring, which operates the plant, acknowledged the incident but stated they were still assessing the damage and cause of the explosion.
This marks the second such incident at the facility in recent years. A similar explosion in 2023 forced Toyota to partially suspend operations at several manufacturing plants.
