A tragic avalanche on Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, has resulted in the death of one individual and left four others injured.
The incident occurred on Monday, as confirmed by local authorities.
The avalanche took place in the Mont Blanc du Tacul area, at an elevation of 4,100 meters above sea level. Large ice blocks, known as seracs, fell early Monday morning.
At the time of the collapse, there were 15 people in the vicinity. The Seracs' fall is believed to have been caused by natural factors.
The avalanche resulted in one fatality and injuries to four others. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene to assist the injured and secure the area.
The injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
