An Iranian oil refinery fire has claimed the life of one person and left four others injured.
The blaze broke out at the Pars Petro Shushtar refinery in the Khuzestan region of Iran, according to Iranian media reports.
The fire, which started on Tuesday evening, erupted in one of the refinery’s fuel storage tanks. Firefighting efforts are still underway to bring the situation under control.
Local authorities have attributed the incident to a collision involving a fuel tanker and gasoline storage tanks.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
This incident follows recent tensions in the region, including threats from Israel to target oil facilities in retaliation for missile attacks on Israel earlier in October.
