A deadly landslide in a remote village in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, has left one person dead and two others injured, according to local authorities.

Rescue teams recovered the body of one victim from the debris, while two survivors were pulled out and transported to the hospital for treatment. Officials confirmed that search efforts are still ongoing for missing individuals.

The landslide, which struck Jinping village in Yibin City, buried at least ten homes and factories under tons of rubble.

Authorities believe the disaster was triggered by prolonged heavy rainfall combined with other geological factors.

More than 200 residents have been evacuated from their homes and relocated to temporary shelters as emergency crews work to stabilize the area.

Over 900 rescue personnel, equipped with excavation machinery and firefighting vehicles, have been deployed to assist in the recovery operation.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged authorities to make every possible effort to locate and rescue the missing individuals, emphasizing the importance of swift action in response to natural disasters.
