Zoo Museum.. Massive Exhibition of African Wild Life

Zoo Museum built in 1914, and is located in Egypt. It is considered as a home to 65 species of mammals, 65 species of birds, 25 species of reptiles, also it includes crocodiles, bears, birds and dogs. It is the first and largest zoological museum in the Middle East and  Africa.

It displays rare and  extinct animals such as: Reem Deer, Sinai Leopard and the Abu Moussa bird.

The museum  consist of  three storeys that include  a large assortment of mummified birds and rep-tiles, skeletons, as well as collectibles from fishing trips taken by King Farouk of Egypt.

The museum contains the earliest mummified crocodile which dates back 4,000 BC, as well as over 1,300 embalmed birds and dozens of skulls.

Khepe Ismail, the ruler of Egypt, was the first to think of opening the Zoo; on March 1891, the Zoo at Giza was opened for the public and it houses rare imported plants, walks that are paved with colored pebbles as well as  streams, lakes, bridges for the various animals.

Also, it is an institute where scientists study the behavior of animals and birds; in addition there are five non-governmental organizations that carry out campaigns to encourage people to preserve wild life and promote environment awareness in Egypt.

The Zoo at Giza is one of the most beautiful in the world and the the most densely by the various animal and plant species; it is considered a huge exhibition of African wild life.  The Zoo’s five gates are beautiful and have  replaced the older gates. They have various sculptural as well as  the suspension bridge designed by ”Gustave Eiffel”.
