The security forces of the Qalyubia Security Directorate in Egypt managed to arrest a blogger nicknamed “Umm Ziyad”, after the permission off the Public Prosecution.

Umm Ziyad was arrested after she posted a video clip on the social networking site “TikTok”, during which she appears with her children and claims that her children practice immoral acts, with the aim of achieving high viewership rates for financial gain.

Confronting her, she admitted to having committed the incident, and the mobile phone used in the incident was seized, while the Public Prosecution Office conducted the investigation.

Earlier, a lawyer in Egypt filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor against the blogger, accusing her of exploiting children and violating the sanctity of minors through videos she publishes on social media, in order to profit and increase views.

The famous blogger, owner of the "Diaries of Umm Ziyad" channel on YouTube, caused great anger after she published a video clip in which she said that she had caught her son and daughter in a disturbing position inside their room, which angered her followers.

The video clip spread widely, as viewers accused her of fabricating and composing an unreal story in order to increase views and follow-ups.

One lawyer told “Sada el-Balad” that the charge of violating private life of the Law on Information Technology Crimes stipulates that “the violator shall be punished with imprisonment for a period of no less than six months, and a fine of no less than 50,000 pound and not exceeding 100,000 pounds, or one of these two penalties.
