A dazzling display at the closing ceremony of the World Youth Forum (WYF2021) was presented to all participants using 500 drones.

The show, the first of its kind in Egypt, decorated the Sharm El-Sheikh sky with precious symbols, including the logo of the WYF, the key to life, the Earth, and a symbol of peace.

The attendees were also dazzled by the parachute shows carried out by a special team of parachute jumpers in Egypt, who carried the flag of Egypt and the logo of the World Youth Forum.

A drone display is also known as a drone light show. It involves the use of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), often quadcopters, flying in a coordinated fashion for public display.

The first drone display was presented in 2012 in Linz, Austria, where the Ars Electronica Future lab introduced SPAXELS (short for “space elements”) for the first time.

On October 20, 2021, 2100 drones were used in a display performed by Geoscan Drone Show during the opening ceremony of Riyadh Seasons 2021.

The WYF’s fourth edition was officially inaugurated in Sharm El-Sheikh resort city in South Sinai on Jan. 10 under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The WYF is an annual global event held in Sharm El-Sheikh in South Sinai, under the auspices of President Sisi. The forum has been launched in three editions in the past three years: 2017, 2018, and 2019.

The WYF aims to bring together the world’s youth in order to promote dialogue and discuss development issues, and to send a message of peace and prosperity from Egypt to the world.

The United Nations Commission for Social Development has adopted the three previous editions of the World Youth Forum in Egypt as an international platform for discussing youth issues.
