World Cup: England Players to Take £500,000 Each, If Crowned

There are many of reasons for England to compete in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and win their first World Cup since 1966.

That's because if they win in Qatar, the players will receive a hefty reward.

The Daily Mail reported that if England were to win, each player would receive up to £500,000 (just over $594,000), in addition to winners' medals and the champions' trophy.

Compared to the 2018 World Cup, where England reached the semifinals in Russia and players took home $255,000, this is a significant increase.

After the FA increased the player bonus pool for the 2018 World Cup by more than twice its original size, the incentives total £13 million ($15.46 million).

Last month, Sunsport reported that manager Gareth Southgate will receive a £3 million ($3.5 million) bonus if he leads England to World Cup success in the same manner that Alf Ramsey did.

This would be in addition to the £3 million pay of the former Middlesbrough coach.

England's international competitors, who provided significantly larger win bonuses than the Three Lions in 2018, are now competitive with England due to the significant increase in bonuses.

The prize money for England is now comparable to that of Germany and Belgium, with Brazil providing the biggest financial incentive.

The substantial £30 million ($35.6 million) yearly sponsorship arrangement with Nike aids the bonus.

The United States and Wales square off in the other group match on Monday, and England takes on Iran in its opening World Cup game.

Brazil, France, and Argentina are the tournament betting favourites, according to Betfair.

According to bookmakers, Spain has the fourth-best odds, followed by England, Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium.
