Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), has announced declining in infections with the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) across the world within the last seven weeks in a row.

He pointed out that any efforts exerted to get rid of the pandemic in all parts of the planet based on vaccinating about 70% of the world's population before the date of the next meeting of the G7 in Germany next year.

He urges the developed countries to temporarily relinquish the rights of instinctual prosperity of the COVID-19 vaccines.

On his part, Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), revealed that the member-states of the G7 group pledge to provide one billion doses of the anti-vaccines.

He added that half a number of these doses will be supplied by the United States of America (USA) and 100 million doses of the UK next year.

This means offering eleven billion doses of the anti-corona vaccines.

Ghebreyesus welcomes pledges of the seven leading economies in the world (G7) to provide 870 million doses to the poor and low-income countries by the end of 2022.

According to the Daily Mail, a UK newspaper, Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed that terminating the pandemic is the challenge that faces the world now.

The General Director of the WHO expressed worry at the increase of infections in Africa in addition to the absence of vaccines and sufficient supplies of oxygen.

He indicated the importance of following the genetic chain of the deadly virus to detect mutations.

He also recommends adhering to the health preventive measurements along with physical distancing.

On the other hand, the WHO affirmed on June 3 that vaccination of children is not necessary at the present time as the world suffers from a severe shortage of vaccines. The UN organization assured that viruses, including COVID-19, in the world change as time passes.
