Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), affirmed that youth are a source of hope and contribution with their inspiring energy and initiatives.

He expressed his belief that dialogue and respect for the faith and beliefs of others are the path toward peace, finding solutions to all problems, and countering hatred and racism.

In his lecture to participants of the second edition of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, Dr. Pillay affirmed that our unity and human brotherhood are essential in confronting corrupt values such as corruption, violence, and others.

Dr. Pillay also explained that we must protect our planet by raising awareness about climate change and confronting its negative impacts.

The General Secretary of the World Council of Churches urged participants in the forum to work on building peace by respecting differences and embracing the human values instilled by God in humanity.

He also emphasized the importance of justice and equality regardless of gender, color, or ethnicity, stating that justice is instrumental in creating a protective shield against those who undermine the plans for dialogue and points of convergence among us.

The second edition of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, which is organized by the Muslim Council of Elders under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, in partnership with the World Council of Churches and the Rose Castle Foundation, commenced in Geneva, Switzerland.

The forum takes place from July 6 to 14 and includes the participation of 50 young men and women from various parts of the world.
