The World Bank (WB) approved a $30 million grant to Palestine as assistance for developing digital economy and Gaza reconstruction, Sputnik reported on Saturday.
The organization asserted in a statement that this grant would help in building a new field which is the digital economy through approving a new law for communication and information technology, in addition to activating the services of e-paying companies.
Kanthan Shankar, WB Country Director for West Bank and Gaza, tweeted: "Glad to announce the World Bank US $ 30 million grant to support Palestinian reforms in digital economy, governance & pandemic resilience."
He added: "Also valuable in the challenging fiscal situation & the burden associated with Gaza’s needs for reconstruction."
