Since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi assumed power in 2014, he has been working at all levels, paying much attention to enhance Egypt’s relations with Arab states, due to the importance of cooperation among those countries in facing any threats, Bahgat Al Obeidi, an Egyptian writer based in Austria and founder of the World Federation of Egyptian Citizen Abroad, said on Thursday.

He added that El-Sisi is aware of the dangers facing the Arab nation, and the schemes that are being plotted against the Arab states. "This pushed him to depend on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which stood by Egypt and showed complete support," he said.

Al-Obeidi noted that El-Sisi has also previously announced that Egypt would not allow any threat to the Gulf states, expressing his full readiness to defend – as quickly as possible- the rights of all Arab countries.

He pointed out that El-Sisi was successful in enhancing relations between Egypt and the Gulf countries, especially with the UAE and promoting coordination and cooperation among them at all levels.

He went to say that the dazzling reception and welcome by the leaders of the UAE’s leaders to President El-Sisi proves the leading place of Egypt and the pioneering role of its president in facing all malicious attempts aimed to dismantle the Arab states.

The Egyptian writer stressed the importance of El-Sisi’s foreign visits, especially those which are paid to brotherly countries, in order to strengthen the strong relations between Egypt and its brothers and to establish common positions in facing threats and crises currently facing the Arab region.

It is worth mentioning that, El-Sisi arrived on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi for a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Egypt’s Head of State’s visit to the UAE comes within the framework of both countries’ keenness to bolster the strong brotherly ties, and collaboration, as well as consultations on various issues related to promoting joint Arab action.

Egypt and the UAE have a long history of military cooperation. On November 2, 2019, the two countries concluded a month of joint military drills under the title “Night Eagles,” Sisi added.
