SEE – July 30th: Innovators do not wait until obstacles get removed and things got ready, but rather, they go on with their innovative minds to achieve their dreams.. This is exactly what happened with Ghada Waly, Yasmina Saleh, Yasmin Seliman along with other group from the GUC students with their new project on a new "visual identity" for one of Egypt's governorates.

The girls presented their project, which went already into effect in Luxor governorate, before President Abd El-Fattah ElSisi during the recent youth conference held at Cairo University, where then was their real life moment.

The President who was impressed by the girls' presentation instructed the government, particularly ministry of defense, to adopt and sponsor the project.

The whole project started by Luxor governor Dr. Mohamed Badr who was searching how to revive the status of the governorate globally by promoting its touristic nature. His ideas inspired an innovative group of GUC girls who worked really hard to come up with this project.

The girls thought to develop an identitly that is easy to be promoted on global scale, as well as being unforgettable. They worked for two years in paper and field work to find ways to restore the governorate status in the global tourism map.

The 'Visual identity' was their present to the governorate and the whole country.

Yasmin Waly, business management consultant, explained that the 'visual identity' is a tool that is able to instruct people about the place, abandon any stereotype  about the state as well as forming a futuristic vision  that will enhance the domestic and global knowledge about Egypt and its governorates, history and civilization.

A slogan designed by teaching staff at faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA), led by Dina Darwish, Yasmina Saleh, Yasmin Seliman and Ghada Waly, came to light to represent the main touristic pillars of the place based on the letters of the governorate's name; LUXOR.

They thought to make every letter of the word indicates a special thing about the place, as follows:

L: indicates for the vertical engineering nature that prevails in the place architectuire.

U: indicates the corridors of temples and a symbol of the beliefs of the pharaohs in eternal life.

O&X: indicates the location of the place between the eastern and western beaches met at the Nile river. This also points to the most important aspects in the governorate; Sun and Nile, as sources of life.

R: representes Horus's eye indicating the wise mind of the pharaohs.
