Frans Timmermans, European Commission Executive Vice-President, is set to pay a two-day visit to Egypt next Monday; he will participate in the ministerial meetings of the Union for the Mediterranean in Cairo.
In a statement, the delegation of the European Union Commission to Egypt stated that Timmermans will meet with a number of Egyptian officials during his visit to Cairo.
The Commission delegation explained that the European official led the Union's work on the recently adopted climate law, which made the EU's 2050 climate-neutral goal a legal requirement.
In July, he presented a package of 13 distinct draft laws in the fields of energy, transport, tax, and emissions to ensure that Union Europe achieves its goals.
