Veteran Syrian Director Bassam Al Mulla Passed away

Bassam Al Mulla, a veteran Syrian director, died on Saturday at the age of 66, according to the Syrian Syndicate of Acting Professions.

The syndicate posted on its official Facebook that its Damascus office confirmed the news of Al Mulla’s death, and the details of the burial ceremony and his funeral will be revealed soon.

The director, who was born in 1956, is well known for the legendary series “Bab Al Harrah.”

In the same context, the head of the Damascus office of the Syrian Artists Association denied all rumors about veteran Syrian artist Duraid Lahaam’s death.

The statement expressed, “Lahham is fine. All spread news on unauthorized Facebook pages is fake.” Also, the statement added that the Artists Association is not responsible for any fake news issued by any platform except their own.

Director Basem Al Salkah posted a photo of Lahaam and several artists during the shooting of his new series, “Aala Qaid Al Hob.”

Lahham, who was born in 1934, is one of the most celebrated and oldest Syrian actors. He wrote, directed, and performed dozens of best recognized Syrian films and series in the history of the Middle East.
