The US nuclear submarine that had an accident in the South China Sea has arrived at the US Pacific island of Guam, carrying 11 injured people, two of whom are in critical condition, according to Russia Today.

On Thursday, the US Navy announced that the submarine "USS Connecticut" collided on the second of October with an unidentified object while it was sailing in international waters in the isthmus between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

"It happened in the South China Sea," said a US official, who declined to be named, adding that 11 people were injured and two marines were moderately injured, but there were no fatal injuries and there was no need to evacuate anyone in an emergency.

The official declined to clarify whether the accident occurred in deep waters and pointed out that the cause of the accident had not yet been determined and that the submarine would be examined in Guam.

The United States of America (USA) and its allies conduct regular patrols in the international waters of this region in order to ensure freedom of navigation in it, which angers China.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman announced that China is deeply concerned about the incident of the American nuclear submarine, which was damaged in the international waters of the Indo-Pacific region.

The US military announced Thursday that a US Navy submarine rammed an "object" while ping in the Asia-Pacific region, but the accident did not cause serious injuries.

A Navy statement said the accident occurred on Saturday and the submarine's nuclear propulsion plant was unaffected and is still operating.

"The submarine remains in a safe and stable condition," US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity. "The accident occurred in international waters in the South China Sea and that fewer than 15 people sustained minor injuries such as bruises."

The condition of two of the injured was described as moderate.
