A US official and three informed sources told the American news website Axios that the United States and Iran are expected to hold a second round of nuclear talks in Geneva next Tuesday in an effort to reach an agreement to prevent war.
According to Axios, reporting this Saturday, the US delegation will include President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, alongside White House envoy Steve Witkoff, with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi also expected to attend as a mediator.
The report indicated that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to head the Iranian delegation, noting that Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, confirmed in an interview with Iranian state television that he had received a message from the United States.
This upcoming session follows the first round of negotiations between Iran and the United States, which took place on February 6 in Oman.
