US Envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, affirmed that reaching an agreement to end the war in Ukraine is very close, noting that its success depends on resolving two key issues that remain unsettled: the future of the Donbas region and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
In press statements, as reported by Sky News Arabia on Sunday, Kellogg explained that efforts to resolve the Ukrainian conflict have reached what he described as the "final ten meters," pointing out that the conflict has caused massive human losses, with the number of fatalities between Russia and Ukraine exceeding two million people since the war began.
For his part, Russian Presidential aide stressed that contacts between Moscow and Washington are not focused on a ceasefire in Ukraine, but rather aim to explore ways to reach an early settlement of the conflict.
