US Embassy Participates in 17th Int'nal Bibliotheca Alexandrina Book Fair

US embassy in Egypt has participated in the 17th edition of the International Bibliotheca Alexandrina Book Fair which is held from July 18  to July  24.

The embassy's participation in the event through its programs and services like the Arabic Book Program is meant to underline its keenness on enhancing ties with Egyptian, and Arab writers and publishing houses.

In a statement, the US embassy said, "We have books covering a range of topics including American history, politics, culture, and more."

This year's edition features participating Egyptian, Arab, and foreign publishers as well as international translation institutions. It's worth noting that the distributors are not permitted at the Book Fair, which is held in cooperation with the General Egyptian Book Authority and the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Association.

It also holds 75 cultural events, with the participation of more than 300 speakers and lecturers. The writers who are taking part in the event include: Ibrahim Abdel-Meguid, Haitham Al-Haj Ali, Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari, writer Ali bin Tamim, writer Omar Taher, journalist, and writer Sayed Mahmoud, novelist and poet Alaa Khaled, translator Hisham Fahmy, novelist Reem Bassiouni, writer Walid Fikry, and many more.

It's worth mentioning that this year's edition is “Awareness and Building the Human Being”
