US & Egypt Discuss Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today received a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. Congress, led by Senator Jerry Moran, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, with General Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel in attendance.

Presidential spokesperson Dr. Ahmed Fahmy stated that the American delegation emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between the U.S. and Egypt.

They acknowledged Egypt's significant role as a cornerstone of regional stability and expressed appreciation for Egypt's efforts in promoting peace and security in the region.

The delegation highlighted Egypt's critical involvement in facilitating ceasefire efforts in Gaza, negotiating the exchange of detainees and prisoners, and delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza residents. They extended their deep gratitude for Egypt's and its leadership's ongoing contributions.

The meeting included a comprehensive discussion on regional issues. President Sisi stressed the necessity of intensifying efforts to contain the situation and end the war, aiming to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and prevent the conflict from escalating. He specifically warned about the dangers of Israeli military operations in Palestinian Rafah and their humanitarian and security repercussions.
