On the third day of the U.S. Ports Roadshow, U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg led a delegation of top U.S. companies to Port Said. General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Chairman Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, General Authority for SCZONE Vice Chairman for the Northern Region Admiral Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud, and General Authority for SCZONE Vice Chairman for the Southern Region Captain Ahmed Gamal welcomed the Ambassador and the U.S. delegation, The Ambassador also met with the Governor of Port Said, General Mohab Habbashy, during her visit.
The U.S. business delegation accompanying Ambassador Mustafa Garg includes industry leaders such as Bechtel, Cisco, Hill International, TMEIC, OSI/Rapiscan, Aveva, and Alvarez & Marsal Holdings, all renowned for their expertise in modernizing and expanding ports worldwide.
Ambassador Mustafa Garg highlighted Port Said’s strategic importance, stating, “Port Said is not just a gateway – it is a hub of energy, innovation, and ambition. The United States understands its critical role in global trade and supply chains. Together, we can advance mutual prosperity, create jobs, and strengthen the foundations of economic growth.”
The Ports Roadshow, which began in Alexandria on September 14 and continued to Damietta on September 15, will visit Ain Sokhna and Cairo later this week. By supporting Egypt’s port development, U.S. companies are fostering economic growth, creating high-quality jobs at home, and strengthening the partnership between Egypt and the United States for shared prosperity.
