UNFPA Egypt Nawah launched the 5th edition of Community Arts Festival on 23 October with a series of marvelous theatrical productions and  musical performances in Cairo.

The performances of the 5th Nawah Community Arts Festival aim at raising awareness on climate change and the importance of taking immediate action, according to UNFPA.

This year's festival, which takes place from Oct. 23 until 30, delves into climate change; an issue that the world is going through and its impact on population issues, said UNFPA.

The festival is implemented this year in partnership between Etijah Foundation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports - Egypt and the Zad arts team, and with the support of UNFPA Egypt, the United Nations Population Fund Egypt.

This project is sponsored by European Union in Egypt, the KOICA Egypt Office, the Embassy of Canada to Egypt, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Cairo, and Istituto Italiano di Cultura e Centro Archeologico Italiano - Il Cairo.

It's worth mentioning that this annual festival sheds light on the role that community theater plays in development and the effect of arts on behavioral change. It also allows young people to contribute to confronting challenges faced by their communities
