Ukrainian security agencies have announced that former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has been prohibited from leaving the country due to his planned meeting with the Hungarian Prime Minister, which could expose him to potential Russian exploitation.
In a statement, Ukrainian security agencies revealed that they had received information regarding Russian preparations for provocations aimed at undermining foreign support and dividing Ukrainian society.
They believe that Moscow intends to exploit the meeting between Poroshenko and Viktor Orbán, who has been accused of being anti-Ukraine.
On Friday, Poroshenko disclosed that he was "prevented from crossing the border while traveling abroad to attend numerous meetings in Poland and the United States," despite having obtained permission to leave Ukraine.
The decision to restrict Poroshenko's travel highlights the ongoing tensions in Ukraine's political landscape and the concern over possible Russian interference.
