The United Kingdom has voiced strong support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to broker a peace agreement in Gaza, describing them as “bringing us closer to peace than ever before.”
In an official statement issued on Sunday, the British government said there is now “a real opportunity to end the fighting, ensure the return of hostages, and deliver humanitarian aid to those in desperate need.”
The statement added that the UK stands with its international partners and is ready to support further negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting truce.
London also welcomed Hamas’s acceptance of the U.S. peace plan, calling it “an important step forward.”
Concluding the statement, the British government urged all parties to implement the agreement without delay and to work toward “a sustainable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.”
