UAE Flies Flags at Half-Mast to Mourn Mubarak’s Death

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) declared official mourning with flags to be flown at half-mast for one day in honor of late Egyptian president Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, who passed away earlier today, Tuesday at the age of 91.

On the other hand, the Egyptian presidency has issued an official statement, mourning the death of the late President.

“Mubarak was one of glorious October war heroes, as he served as air forces commander during this war which restored the Arab nation’s dignity and pride,” the statement read.

Moreover, the presidency expressed its deep sorrow and sincere condolences to Mubarak's family.

In addition, it also declared a three-day mourning period over his death, starting from tomorrow.

It is worth mentioning that, sources close to the family of late president revealed that his funeral will be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday at Al-Moshir Tantawy mosque.

Mubarak was born on May 4th, 1928 and he stayed in power for three decades ended by the popular uprising of January 25th, 2011.

Many Egyptians regarded the former president as a war hero for serving as a commander of the Egyptian Air Force during the October 6 War in 1973.
