The Sharjah Government Oil Council announced the discovery of a new gas discovery in the “Hadiba” field, located north of the Al Sajaa field in the Emirate of Sharjah, in “promising” economic quantities.
The new field was discovered after the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) drilled a well in the past months, and the well will be tested in the coming period, to confirm the quantities and potential reserves of the field for development.
It is noteworthy that the “Hadiba” field is the fifth onshore field in Sharjah, in addition to the Al-Saja’a, Kahif, Mahani and Muayed fields, which have been “converted into a gas storage field.”
In a separate context, Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) had signed an agreement with Ras Al Khaimah Gas Company (RAKGas), the leading supplier of natural gas, for gas storage services, on the sidelines of their participation in ADIPEC Week 2023, last October.
The agreement effectively addresses the two companies' efforts to ensure gas supply and manage seasonal demand efficiently.
